Side Effects

Side Effects (2011-2013) is a series of short audio-visual improvisations that I call digital meditations. Each improvisation utilizes a feedback structure in the software where the audio and video signals influence the abstraction of each other creating an infinite palette of performance possibilities. For the performance of the piece anywhere from eight to fifteen of the short improvisations are chosen and presented without pause. The piece as a whole can be thought of as a series of meditations that are to be taken in without narrative or implied meaning.
